Welcome to Clausentum Lodge 1461Greetings from the Worshipful MasterI
was born on Christmas Day 1961 in Leicestershire. We moved to Kent
when I was still at junior school and I attended the Simon Langton Grammar
School for Boys in Canterbury. I left after my ‘O’ Levels to take up
an apprenticeship as a Marine Engineer. However, at the end of the
four years I was made redundant with about 95% of my colleagues.
During my final year, which was spent at college in Southampton, I met my
wife, Lisa. Unable to find work in engineering I made a small career
change and became a Funeral Director! After 17 years I took the
opportunity to join the NHS and set-up a brand new Bereavement Care
Service at Southampton General Hospital, where I have now been for the
past nine years. I was initiated into Freemasonry on 4th
June 2003, passed on 5th November 2003, and raised on
3rd March 2004 by my proposer and long-time friend W. Bro.
David Slattery. I also belong to the Wilfrid Attenborough Chapter No
7672 and the Brocas Hyrst Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1733.
I am currently studying, part-time, for a Masters Degree at
Staffordshire University, and in what spare time I have left, I like
to play golf and spend time with my wife, Lisa, and two children, Daniel
and Katie. I
thoroughly enjoy all aspects of being a Freemason and have gained a great
deal from the fellowship that I have enjoyed over the past 6 years or
so. I have met a great many people from different walks of life who
all bring something unique to the Lodge and its activities, creating a
diverse and enriching environment in which to enjoy our ceremonies and
each other’s company. It is a great honour to be elevated to the
position of Master of this Lodge and I am thankful to the Brethren for the
trust they have shown me. Regards W.Bro Mark Green
